HBO’s reality TV series “Hard Knocks” gives NFL fans an inside look into a single team every training camp. The show is a fan favorite, which is why in 2013 the NFL decided that if a team didn’t volunteer itself for the show, one would be selected.
“It’s not something we would be really excited about,” Lynch said, via NBC Sports Bay Area. “I love the show, but I think some things are best left behind closed doors. I fundamentally have a problem with cutting players and things of that nature (on camera). It’s not something we’d be thrilled about.”
Last year, the decision on a team (the Buccaneers) was made in April, so you can likely expect this year’s team to be chosen around that time.
“I think there is no doubt we’ve got to get better at that position,” Elway said, via the team’s website. “For us to have a chance to get better, we’ve got to get better at that position.”
Broncos quarterbacks Trevor Siemian, Brock Osweiler and Paxton Lynch put on less than impressive performances this season, combining for a 73.0 passer rating ranking 31st in the league. Furthermore, only the winless Browns had more turnovers than the Broncos.
“Obviously, that position didn’t perform as well as we wanted it to. I thought it would perform better than it did,” Elway said. “And it’s not just on them; I think there’s a lot of circumstances that went into that, that put them in tough situations. But we didn’t perform as well as we’d like to, so that’s obviously a position that we feel like we have to get better at going into next season.”
